music director, cccf music program
Bro. Ashley Faatoalia is a professional opera singer and recording artist whose artistry is deeply rooted in the church. A native of Los Angeles, Ashley comes from a rich spiritual lineage as the great-great grandson of Elder Edmund Williams, founder of the former Prayer Assembly Church of God in Christ—affectionately known for years throughout LA as “The BBQ Church.” He was raised between that congregation and his family’s home church, Greater Community COGIC, under the pastoral leadership of Elder Eddie B. Manley, surrounded by generations of faith-filled worshipers including his mother, great-grandmother, aunts, and cousins. From an early age, Ashley’s musical gifts were evident, inspired in part by his grandmother, Capitol Records artist Marci Lee.

Ashley studied voice at Chapman University and has since performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including the Sydney Opera House, Dodger Stadium, and the Hollywood Bowl. His professional credits span leading cultural institutions and major studios such as LA Opera, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera, LA Phil, ABCDisney, Sony Pictures, Apple Studios, A24, and Hallmark.

Ashley is featured on major motion picture soundtracks including Avatar 2 & 3 and Dicks! The Musical, and has premiered roles in groundbreaking new operas such as The Central Park Five by Anthony Davis and Invisible Cities by Christopher Cerrone. Ashley is also a proud member of AGMA, SAG-AFTRA and a voting member of The Recording Academy.

Since 2012, Ashley has faithfully served as Director of Music at Christian Fellowship, bringing together his professional excellence, deep spiritual heritage, and passion for worship. His leadership honors the legacy of sacred music while embracing fresh, expressive praise—guiding the congregation in worship that is both rooted and reaching, reverent and alive. visit his site here
